You have been slogging your guts out and you feel like you are going nowhere – fast.
Is it time to throw in the towel and break up with your business? Or should you refuse to quit, as it has been said that most people give up right before they are about to succeed (but of course they did not know that fact, otherwise, they’d be plain weird)?
Give it one more month. Set a time limit
The first thing to do is to set a time limit on things as this gives you some light at the end of the tunnel and enables you to see a way out should you still want that. Often we get ourselves worked up into such a state and cannot see a way out and this leads to stress.
Take the pressure off and say ‘okay I can walk if I want to walk’ BUT – give it one more month, just in case you ARE close to success. Taking the pressure off often gives people that energy boost that was needed and suddenly things take a turn for the better.
Don’t see it as failing – look at how you can grow
You may not feel that your current business model is working but it does not mean that you have to give up on it completely. If for example you are selling red bags and they don’t turn you on anymore, understand that you have just outgrown your business, and like relationships this happens as we grow as people and is ‘normal’. Grow from it and be true to yourself about who you are and where you are at right now and then turn your current passion into a business as any business needs passion behind it to succeed.
Take a break
Sometimes you just need to take a break and see how you feel after that. It can just be a simple case of things having got on top of you. Take one week off, and go away if you can afford it. You can always outsource some things so you are ‘working’ when not working in a way, but just clear your head and then see how you really feel about everything.
The main thing to remember is that you are being honest with yourself and it takes guts to admit that something is not working or that you do not have the passion for it anymore. In breaking free from what we do not want we are free to find and attract what we do want. Go out there and make it happen. You are a dream maker so dream big and move forwards.
